How to request to attend a school other than your neighborhood school
Families may request to attend a Monroe area school that is outside of their neighborhood school boundaries. These requests are called “intra” district transfers.
All intradistrict transfers received by the deadline will be considered equally. If there are more applicants requesting a transfer than spaces available, the number of transfers granted will be determined by a drawing.

A Daycare Verification Form (in English or in Spanish) must accompany requests that are submitted based on daycare needs.
Completed forms may be mailed or delivered to Monroe Public Schools, 200 East Fremont, Monroe, WA 98282.
While every effort will be made to notify families of the status of their transfer request by August 1, sometimes we must wait until enrollment patterns stabilize before finalizing transfer decisions. We will notify you as promptly as possible of the status of your transfer request. Typically, we have honored the enrollment of students through a grade band (i.e. K-5 elementary school or 6-8 middle school) at a requested school, but as the district grows we cannot guarantee our ability to continue to do so.
Transfer requests must be renewed each year. Applications received after the deadline can be considered as late as the fourth school day in September. Please email Kristine Johnston or call her at 360-804-2570 if you have questions regarding the process
