Families living within the Monroe School District who would like their child to attend a school in another school district must complete an Inter District Transfer Request form.

Because all children are unique with differing needs and challenges, families are given the opportunity to have their child attend a school outside their “home” district by submitting an Inter District Transfer form.  Transfer requests must be renewed each year and parents are required to provide transportation.  

Students living within the Monroe School District boundary area, who would like to attend a school in another district, must complete an Inter District Transfer form. Forms must be filled out and signed by the parent/guardian and then mailed or delivered to Monroe School District, 200 East Fremont, Monroe, WA 98272. 

Once Monroe’s superintendent/designee signs and releases the student from Monroe, the completed form may be hand carried or mailed to the school district your child is requesting to attend. Please include a stamped/addressed envelope if you would like us to forward the form to the district you are requesting your student to attend.

Release from Monroe School District does NOT guarantee placement in another district. If your Inter District Transfer is denied, there will always be a place for your child in Monroe.
