School Board
Welcome to the webpage for Monroe Public Schools’ Board of Directors, commonly referred to as the School Board. Directors are elected by district to ensure representation from across the 82 square miles of our service area.
We encourage you to actively participate in the governing of our public schools. Our meetings are open to the entire community and are typically scheduled on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. in the Administration Building at 200 E. Fremont in downtown Monroe. Exceptions to this schedule are published on the “Special Notice” tab above.
The “Meeting Info, Agendas” tab above links you to the topics set for each meeting’s agenda. Efforts to ensure both sides of an issue are heard are important to the School Board.
- Individuals may share suggestions or concerns regarding business items on the agenda. Comments should be less than 3 minutes.
- Groups of community members sharing the same opinion wishing to comment are encouraged to work with staff to ensure a presentation no longer than 10 minutes.
Please Note: School Board members may not engage in direct conversation but if you wish an answer to a specific question, please let us know and staff will be happy to contact you after the meeting.
Community members may also comment on matters not scheduled on a meeting agenda:
- In person comments may be made in person during the Public Comment period at each School Board meeting using the parameters listed above for agenda topics

Greg Accetturo, District 3 covers the southern portion of the City of Monroe out to the Tualco Valley, Mt. Forest neighborhoods and the area east of Echo Lake and Welch roads

Debra Kolrud, District 2 covers the northern portion of the City of Monroe across Highway 2 from Woods Creek Road to the eastern edge of the district

Tom MacIntyre, District 1 covers the north side of Highway 2 including Snohomish addresses and the City of Monroe from Woods Creek Road west to Robinhood Lane and parts of the city including the Foothills neighborhood

NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
On June 29, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. the Monroe School District Board of Directors will hold a special board meeting for the purpose of holding a board retreat to discuss:
