Birth - 3 Years
Our Birth - 3 program serves babies and young toddlers who are born with a disability or medical condition that impairs development. Our two teachers work closely with families to provide early intervention services. Pre School
Our Pre-school program serves young children ages 3-5 who exhibit developmental delays in areas such as speech and language, fine and gross motor, problem solving skills, and/or social/emotional development. Our comprehensive assessment process and on-going service delivery model incorporates teachers, therapists, psychologist, instructional assistants and parents working together. Walking into one or our pre-schools you will see young children developing in a fun, supportive and enriched atmosphere.

Life Skills
Our Life Skills programs are located at Fryelands Elementary, Salem Woods Elementary, Monroe Middle School and Monroe High School. These programs serve students with any combination of the following: significant cognitive delays, medical conditions, orthopedic needs and other sensory conditions. Walking into any one of these classrooms you will see amazing adaptive equipment, behavioral strategies, and functional activities, all designed by the staff to meet the needs of their students in a creative and imaginative way.

Resource
Resource programs are located in each of our schools. Our teachers meet the many needs of students on a continuum of services. Student needs are met on an individual basis and specific skill development is addressed along with support and accommodations within the students regular classroom.

Re-entry Program
The Re-entry program is located at Monroe High School and operates at the end of the school day Monday through Thursday. It is designed to be a tutorial program and is short term in nature. Re-entry serves students who have been suspended or expelled from Monroe High School and offers a short term placement before they re-enter their regular program. It also serves special ed, 504 and some general ed students who are new to the district and need a short term placement while a more permanent program is being developed.

Summit Program

The Summit Program is a cooperative program among three school districts: Monroe, Snohomish and Sultan. It is designed to reach students who have been unsuccessful in neighborhood schools because of social and emotional issues.
The Summit Program serves students in grades 7-12. There is an emphasis on teaching anger management, coping skills, appropriate social skills and at the same time continuing the academic progress for each student.

Behavior Consultant
Our Special Education department serves students with behavioral and emotional needs through the intervention of a Behavior Consultant. The Behavior Consultant is engaged once the building teams have attempted other interventions such as a special education evaluation, functional behavioral assessment, and behavior plans. This staff member works closely with school teams and parents to analyze student behavior, to determine the cause or reason behind the behavior, and to develop specific plans to address the needs of the student. The consultant also focuses on establishing consistent approaches and interventions between home and school.For more information contact:

Transition
Our 18-21 Transition Center serves students ages 18-21. This program supports students as they transition from high school to the world of work. This can include vocational training, social training, and connecting with community resources for these young adults.
