In the Monroe School District, we are fully committed to preparing every student for college, careers and life by providing powerful instructional strategies, equitable access for all learners and holding every student to high expectations. We believe in developing the strengths and passions of every student, honoring each student’s unique needs and providing the rigorous learning experiences necessary for independent success.
This commitment shows in the wide range of programs offered throughout the district for our diverse population of students. We strive to provide just the right fit with choices of traditional K-12 classrooms, alternative programs and programs for students that excel and those with special learning needs.
In recent years, many of our schools have been recognized for academic excellence, including U.S. New & World Report, which ranked Monroe High School among the top high schools in the nation. Additionally, Salem Woods Elementary was named a ‘School of Distinction’ for increased reading and math achievement by the Center for Educational Effectiveness and Sky Valley Education Center was ranked in the top ten percent of Washington’s high schools with the best teachers by the school ranking site, Niche.
Students in our district are taught by dedicated and highly qualified teachers. Our teachers surpass the state average and the average of surrounding school districts for the number of teachers holding advanced degrees.
