March 11-15, 2019 is Education Support Professionals Week, a tradition started in 1975 to recognize their contributions in the public school system. This week presents us with the opportunity to show our appreciation for the critical roles these employees play in the success of our district.
Classified staff are involved in nearly every aspect of education - maintaining buildings and grounds, preparing and serving meals, keeping school facilities clean and orderly, assisting in the classroom, providing over 60 percent of all instructional hours to special education, English Language Learners, and opportunity gap students, performing and conducting research activities, providing information technology and media services, administrative support functions, safe transportation, a secure and healthy environment, and so much more.
Looking for a way to celebrate these amazing staff members? Every year, Public School Employees of Washington recognizes the hard work performed by Education Support Professionals and the 2019 nominations are open now! You can recognize one of our employees for their contributions to education in our district by nominating them for an award before March 31, 2019. Let's celebrate our amazing employees!
Please join us in thanking our Education Support Professionals this week for their dedication and service to the students of Monroe.
