Officer Springer Says Goodbye

Officer Springer Says Goodbye

After serving over six years as the Student Resource Officer (SRO) for the Monroe School District, Officer Justin Springer is moving on to a new position within the Monroe Police Department.

Upon wrapping up his final school year with the Monroe School District, Officer Springer became the first ever recipient of MSD's Challenge Coin Award for taking extraordinary action and providing invaluable assistance in the furtherance of student safety. The award was presented to Officer Springer at last Tuesday's City Council meeting by MSD's Safety, Security & Risk Manager, Greg Burns.

Officer Springer was also recognized by Chief Jolley with a Distinguished Service Award from the Monroe Police Department.

Officer Springer has accepted a new position as Monroe Police Department's Community Outreach Officer. Officer Springer will partner with the current Embedded Social Worker, Elisa Delgado, to work with our community's homeless individuals who are in need of services.

While Officer Springer will be greatly missed by the Monroe School District, we are so thankful for his years of service and the difference he has made in the lives of so many of our students.

The selection process for a new SRO is ongoing.
