Wow, what a journey we are on! Our worlds have been unexpectedly turned upside down and we've faced challenges we couldn't have even imagined just a few short months ago. But despite the difficult circumstances, our teachers have demonstrated unparalleled tenacity, dedication, and compassion in meeting the needs of our students, families, and community. I have never been more proud to be a part of Monroe School District's team of educators and support staff.
This week marks the time of annual recognition for our teaching staff; a week where we celebrate and honor the work of our incredibly hard-working teachers and all they do to support the education and well-being of the students in our community. This year we are challenged to celebrate and show our appreciation for our teachers from a distance, in ways unlike we have before.
Please join me in sending a warm and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our teachers for their tireless efforts in making a difference in the lives of our students, especially during these new and difficult times. Whether it's via email, phone call or Zoom meeting, I encourage everyone to take a minute to let our teachers know how truly valued they are. In addition, many of our students took time to say thank you to their teachers and we've compiled their messages in a heartwarming video, which you can view here.
We appreciate our teachers for the work they do every day, but it's in these challenging times that we truly recognize and appreciate how our educators play such a pivotal role in the lives of our students—inspiring a lifelong love of learning and discovery and making a difference in their well-being and long-term success. Thank you teachers, again, for all that you do.
