Back to School Checklist 2022

Back to School Checklist 2022

The first day of school is right around the corner and we want to help you and your students get set up for a successful year! Here are eight things to help you prepare for the 2022-23 school year.

1. COMPLETE THE ANNUAL UPDATE & FILL OUT REQUIRED FORMS

One thing you can check off your list before the busy school year starts is make sure your contact information is up to date by completing the annual update in Family Access.

Once you are logged into Family Access, click '2023 Annual Update' on the top of the left menu. Here you can update your family's contact information and electronically sign all required annual forms. If you need assistance, please reach out to your child's school.

2. FIND YOUR CLASS ASSIGNMENT AND/OR SCHEDULE

While you're in Family Access, you can see your student's teacher assignments and/or class schedules under the 'SCHEDULE' tab. If you have questions about class placement or schedule changes, please contact your student's school directly. School contact info can be found here.

3. CHECK YOUR BUS STOP LOCATION AND TIME

If you have already opted in for transportation, your student's bus stop location and time can be found in Family Access or E-Link. If your student needs transportation and you haven't yet opted in, there's still time! Opt-in here. Have a transportation question? Call our transportation department at (360) 804-2651.

4. VIEW SCHOOL SUPPLY LISTS

From paper and pencils to scissors and glue sticks; our students and teachers rely on having the proper tools needed for daily learning. We welcome any and all supplies that families are able to provide each year. If you would like to help by sending supplies to school with your child(ren), the suggested school supply lists can be found here.

5. MAKE SURE YOU ARE SET UP TO STAY 'IN THE KNOW'

ACTIVATE YOUR PARENT SQUARE ACCOUNT

Families who activate their ParentSquare account will have access to all school and district communication in one centralized location, which can be utilized through a web browser or by downloading the mobile app (iOS and Android). Activating a ParentSquare account is optional for families, but it is highly encouraged! Learn more about ParentSquare here.

6. CHECK OUT SCHOOL MENUS

We are transitioning back to regular prices for school meals, with free/reduced price meals for qualified families. Free/reduced meal applications for the 22-23 school year can be found here. All students at Frank Wagner Elementary and Leaders in Learning, however, will continue to receive free meals this year and do not need to fill out applications to receive meals. School lunch menus can be found here.

8. PRACTICE GETTING UP ON TIME

Being at school on time every day is important for staying on track academically. To prepare students for a successful start to the school year, it may be helpful to have them practice getting up on time now. Get the alarm clocks set and practice those morning routines so that on-time arrivals begin on day one! School start times can be found here.
