Accessible Communication for Families

We are committed to ensuring that all families, regardless of the language they speak, have access to important information about their student’s education. We understand the importance of clear communication, which is why we offer several tools to support language accessibility.

Our mass communication tool, ParentSquare, automatically translates all messages (emails, text messages, app notifications) into each family's preferred language. While many families receive their messages in English, they are also delivered to families in many other languages.

In addition to ParentSquare, we are excited to announce that Family Access/Skyward now offers a Google Chrome translation feature. This new addition makes it easier for families to access important information, including:

  • Calendar: View your student’s class assignments on a monthly calendar.
  • Gradebook: Check grades, upcoming projects, and tests.
  • Attendance: Excuse absences or view attendance history.
  • Student Info: See your student’s contact and emergency information. Now is a great time to ensure this information is up to date! Any changes should be submitted to the school office.
  • Busing: Find bus routes, pick-up, and drop-off times.
  • Food Service: View and manage your student’s lunch account balance.
  • Schedule: Access your student’s class schedule for planning appointments.
  • Portfolio: Access and print student report cards, progress reports, and test scores.

To help you get started with the Google Chrome translation feature, Family Access/Skyward offers a short video with step-by-step instructions. Additionally, family user guides are available in English and Spanish.

Lastly, our district website also includes a translation feature. Simply click the language button at the bottom right of the site, select a language, and the entire site will be translated.
