Additional Outdoor Facilities Now Open for Community Use

Hidden Rive Middle School track & field

Over the last few months, Superintendent Woodward has met with many families and community members during informal chats and has heard valuable feedback. One topic that has come up repeatedly is the desire for additional access to the district’s outdoor recreation spaces. As a result, we will be extending community access to more of our outdoor facilities.

As a reminder, in 2023 the track and all-weather fields at Park Place Middle School and the tennis courts at Monroe High School were opened for general community use during non-school, daylight hours when they are not being used by the school or reserved by an organization. Learn more

Expanded access will now include:

  • Hidden River Middle School track & field, and softball/baseball field: Open after school during daylight hours; no weekend access as we have limited staff to regularly open and close the gates.

  • Monroe High School track & field, and baseball/softball practice field: Open after school during daylight hours, in addition to the already available tennis courts.

Weekend access at Monroe High School
On weekends, if the gate to the parking lot is locked, community members are welcome to park outside the gate and walk in to access the tennis courts or track and field. If the gates are open, visitors are welcome to drive in and park on campus. Access is restricted after dark.

Please note: Outdoor fields and facilities are open for public use when they are not being used by the school or reserved by an organization.

We kindly ask everyone to use these spaces responsibly so we can maintain access for all. Please be mindful that misuse or safety concerns may require closures to protect the well-being of all users.

For information about reserving district facilities, please visit the Facility Use page on our website.

We look forward to seeing more of our community enjoying these spaces!
