The Monroe School District Honor Roll recognition program is aimed at recognizing employees for exemplifying our core values through their service to our students, staff, families, and community.

Leslie Knutzen - Van Driver at Transportation
Core value exemplified: Excellence
I am eternally grateful for the love and kindness Leslie has shown my daughter as she takes her to school every day. The drive itself is enough to make someone tired but not only does she do it she does it with love and care. I have never seen my child look up to or trust another adult so much. Leslie listens to my daughter's love for music and gets excited for every big or little success that she has. Leslie makes me as a parent feel safe as I drop my kid off and she also gives me helpful advice and positive feedback on my kid. As a special needs parent, life is hard and scary. People like Leslie make me have peace in my heart and that is something you cannot put a price on. I wish there was more I could do for this saint of a human but I hope this thank you is a start. Thank you for everything, Leslie.

Dr. Sharma is so awesome---she tries her best to make everyone feel like they belong, and she makes learning science fun and not boring. She is not only a teacher, but a friend, and I couldn't ask for a better teacher!

Dr. Sharma shows these core values by making all in her class feel included and making sure that everyone gets to share. She lets students extend their learning, by letting them take her extension class, she makes sure everyone understands the material, and she makes sure she's not biased when she grades student's work. She is friendly and gets the class to be engaged in the work like most teachers can't. Many students can back me up when I say she is a magnificent teacher.

Dr. Sharma is always in a good mood and ready to help us learn. She sees that some of us need some extra help and some of us are ready to take our learning to the next level. She sees who we are and our understanding of concepts regardless of test scores, and grades us fairly and with no bias. I'm grateful to be in her class.

Dr. Sharma is always doing things for us, even though classmates misbehave. She brings us extra things, like doughnuts, and makes sure everyone is equal, and everyone is treated fairly. She makes the work more fun, is happy to joke with students, offers helpful constructive criticism, and goes out of her way so that when we get in trouble she doesn't call us out in front of others, so we won't be embarrassed. I have never had a better teacher in the eight years I've been in school.
