Facility Advisory Committee Mapping the Future of Our Schools

Monroe School District Facility Advisory Committee: Mapping our Futre

Our schools are a cornerstone of our community, and maintaining safe, functional, and future-ready facilities is essential to student success. Capital improvements such as building renovations, new construction, and major repairs are funded through voter-approved bonds and capital levies. Because of this, it’s vital that community voices help shape the plans that guide these investments.

To ensure our capital facilities planning reflects the values and priorities of our community, we have formed a Facility Advisory Committee (FAC). This group has been tasked with reviewing district needs and making a recommendation to the School Board by September 2025 for future capital projects and investments. If the Board determines that a voter-approved bond or capital levy is necessary, it would likely appear on the ballot in early 2026.

The FAC is made up of 26 members, including parents, staff, and community members from across the district. Selected through an open application process, members are committed to meeting monthly and serving for up to one year.

With support from Teater Crocker, an educational firm specializing in school facility planning, the committee will be reviewing:

  • Building condition reports

  • Educational program needs

  • Enrollment trends & projections

  • Community input - be on the lookout for upcoming opportunities to provide your input!

  • Local development

  • Capital funding options

We’re grateful for the FAC’s work and their role in helping shape the future of Monroe’s schools. Stay tuned for updates and opportunities to provide your input! You can also learn more about the work of the FAC here.
