Key Communicators Group

Due to an overwhelming response, we are no longer accepting applications for the Key Communicators Group at this time. Thank you for your interest!

Dear Monroe School District Community,

I’m creating a Monroe School District Key Communicators Group to strengthen communication and build stronger connections throughout our community.

As superintendent, I want more opportunities to connect directly with our community members, hear what’s on your mind, answer questions, and share accurate information about our schools. Email and written updates are important, but they can’t replace regular, face-to-face conversations.

Key Communicators will meet with me approximately once every six weeks for informal conversations about what’s happening in Monroe School District. I hope to bring together a diverse group of parents, caregivers, staff, students, business owners, civic leaders, and community members who care about our schools and want a direct connection with district leadership.

During our conversations, you’ll have an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about important issues and decisions affecting our schools
  • Ask questions and get accurate, timely information directly from me
  • Share community perspectives, interests, and concerns
  • Bring forward questions or information you’re hearing from others
  • Help friends, neighbors, families, and community organizations better understand what’s happening in our schools

You won’t be expected to speak on behalf of the district or agree with every district decision. I’m looking for people who are curious, willing to listen, comfortable asking questions, and interested in helping accurate information travel throughout our community.

Our first meeting will focus on the Capital Projects Levy that will appear on the November ballot. I’ll share factual information about the proposal, the facility needs it is intended to address, its anticipated cost, and its potential impact on Monroe schools and local taxpayers. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions and share what additional information would be helpful to our community.

We’ll also use our first meeting to talk about what comes next. I want to hear from the group about the issues and topics you, and the people you’re connected with, would like to discuss at future meetings.

If you care about our schools and would value a direct, ongoing conversation with me as superintendent, I invite you to become a Monroe School District Key Communicator.

Our first meeting will be September 23 from 12:00–1:00 p.m. Participants will have the option to join in person or online.

Please feel free to share this invitation and interest form with friends, neighbors, and others in our community who may be interested in participating.

Depending on interest and available space, we may need to create a waitlist.

I look forward to connecting with you and having some great conversations about our schools and community.
