As the next generation of Monroe School District (MSD) students prepare to enter kindergarten in September 2023, families of children who will be 5 years old by August 31, 2023 are invited to attend our kindergarten information night on Tuesday, March 7th at each of our five elementary schools (see times below).

These meetings will be hosted by our elementary school principals and will include a discussion about curriculum as well as a walk-through of the registration process and a tour of Kindergarten classrooms. Incoming kindergarten students are also invited to attend and there will be quiet play activities to do while their parents/guardians attend the meeting.

All five MSD elementary schools offer all day, every day kindergarten at no cost to families. To find out which elementary school your child should attend, please visit our school boundaries webpage and enter your home address in the search bar. Click on the school symbol that is located within the same boundary lines as your home to find out which school your child should attend. Our five elementary school locations are as follows:

• Chain Lake Elementary - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  12125 Chain Lake Road, Snohomish

• Frank Wagner Elementary - 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  115 Dickinson Road, Monroe

• Fryelands Elementary - 5:30- 7:00 p.m.
  15286 Fryelands Blvd, Monroe

• Maltby Elementary - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  9700 - 212th Street SE, Snohomish

• Salem Woods Elementary - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
  12802 Wagner Road, Monroe

In addition, Frank Wagner Elementary offers a Spanish/English Dual Language Program. Any kindergarten student may enroll; however, bus service is only provided to families living in the Frank Wagner boundary area. An information night for the Dual Language Program will also be held on March 7th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Frank Wagner Elementary. We encourage all interested families to attend.

Maltby Elementary School offers a Montessori-Based Program that is open for kindergarten students on an all-day, every-day schedule. An informational meeting for all interested families will be held Tuesday, March 14th from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Registration for the 2023-24 school year opens on March 1, 2023. It is important for families to register as soon as possible following the kindergarten information night on March 7th to help us best plan for the 2023-24 school year. State law requires incoming kindergarten students to have received current immunizations by the first day of class and be age five by August 31, 2023 to enroll for the 2023-24 school year.
