Please join us in congratulating our November Employees of the Month!

CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Evelyn Melgoza - Counseling Secretary/Test Coordinator at Monroe High School

Evelyn Melgoza with Superintendent Shawn Woodward

Evelyn faithfully communicates (in English AND Spanish!), reaches out and makes herself available to help all students access tests and receive appropriate accommodations or financial aid. She works hard to communicate clearly with teachers and staff around AP, SBAC, and other tests. She gives attention and time to pursuing and supporting MLL students by facilitating the world language exams and connecting them with paraeducator and staff support for their educational success. Students and staff adore her!

CERTIFICATED EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Rachel Sullivan - Multilingual Teacher and Instructional Coach at Frank Wagner Elementary

Rachel Sullivan with Superintendent Shawn Woodward

Rachel is a STRONG voice for our multi-language learners -- And more than just a voice, she works tirelessly to both advocate for MLL students and to better equip teachers with the tools and strategies they need to ensure that the learning needs of ALL students are met. Rachel has helped me implement best practices, shown me countless resources, modeled strong instructional strategies, and pushed me to learn and grow in ways that directly empower and support my students. Rachel is always learning and growing--it seems like every day you will hear her say "I just listened to the best podcast on reading..." or "I just started a great new book on reading strategies." I am grateful that her role allows her to work so closely with me -- working together with the goal to learn and grow together with the intention of positively impacting student learning for ALL students!
