Public Hearing on 2024–25 General Fund Budget Extension

Magnifying glass looking at budget

The Monroe School District will hold a public budget hearing during the regularly scheduled School Board meeting on Monday, June 9, 2025, to gather community input on the proposed 2024–25 General Fund Budget Extension.

What is a Budget Extension?

A budget extension allows the district to adjust its spending authority beyond what was approved in the originally adopted budget. This year, student enrollment was higher than originally anticipated, resulting in additional funding for the district. In order to spend this additional funding—on staffing, programs, and services—the School Board must formally authorize the extension of the General Fund budget.

Community Participation Encouraged

All community members are invited to:

  • Review the draft budget extension in advance
  • Attend the public hearing
  • Share input through public comment following the presentation

After the hearing, the Monroe School District Board of Directors will consider adoption of the proposed budget extension during the business portion of the meeting.
