With the resignation of the School Board Director of District No. 4, the remaining school board members are charged with filling the vacant position by appointing a new director. The director selected by appointment will fill the vacant position until the next regularly scheduled election in November 2023. If the appointed board director wishes to remain on the board, they will need to be elected by the public for the remainder of the term, which expires in 2025.

Interested registered voters residing within the boundaries of Director District No. 4 (Maltby area) were invited to apply between February 2-17. Four candidates officially submitted applications for the position to the board and these candidates will be interviewed in a meeting open to the public on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. 

The schedule of candidate interviews is as follows:

• 9:30 a.m. - Laura Bailey
• 10:00 a.m. - James Etzkorn
• 10:40 a.m. - Janine Burkhardt
• 11:10 a.m. - Derek Wyszynski

At the conclusion of the interviews, the board will go into executive session to discuss the qualifications of the candidates. Following the executive session, the board plans to reconvene the public meeting to vote on the appointment of the new Director of District No. 4.
