School Board Appreciation Month

school board appreciation month

In January, we celebrate School Board Recognition Month - a time to appreciate the efforts of school boards and their members who play a crucial role in ensuring the health of their local school system.

Five community members make up Monroe School District's Board of Directors and are elected by local voters, according to the geographical district in which they live, to ensure representation from across the 82 square miles of our service area.

Board responsibilities range from adopting critical policies and procedures to hiring a superintendent and overseeing budgets, all with the goal of creating an environment where students and staff can thrive.

School board members often balance careers, family responsibilities, and other commitments while fulfilling their roles as educational leaders.

Meet the dedicated community members serving on the Monroe School District Board:

The school board encourages community involvement in the governing of the Monroe School District. School board meetings, typically held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, are open to the public. For more information about our school board, please visit here.

A sincere thank you to our board members for their dedication, passion, and commitment to Monroe School District. Please join us in recognizing our school board at the upcoming meeting on Monday, January 22nd at 5:00 p.m.
