Spring 2025 Student Survey Results & Upcoming Fall Survey

Student Climate Culture SURVEY - Fall 2025

Each fall and spring, we work with Panorama Education to survey students about their experiences in school. The survey helps us learn how students feel about belonging, motivation, and relationships at school. When students feel connected, supported, and confident in their ability to succeed, they are more engaged in learning and more likely to do better in school.

The information from the survey adds to what we learn from test scores and attendance. By looking at all of this together, we can better understand each student and make good decisions about teaching, school culture, and the support students need to succeed.

Highlights from Spring 2025 Student Survey

Last spring, more than 3,000 students in grades 3–12 shared their thoughts about our schools. Here’s the highlights of what we learned:

  • Strong relationships: Most students said they have adults and friends at school they can count on—85% of middle and high school students and 89% of elementary students.

  • Growing sense of belonging: 62% of students in grades 3–5 said they feel they belong at school. This is above the national average. Among older students, 47% said they feel a sense of belonging, which is a small but positive increase from last year.

  • Building confidence: 53% of elementary and 40% of middle and high school students said they feel confident in their ability to do well in school. Because of this, many schools are working on ways to help students build persistence, confidence, and academic challenge, which are skills that help them succeed in learning and life.

These results show that students feel supported and connected, and they also help us see where we can keep growing, especially in building confidence and belonging for all students.

If you’d like to view the survey results in their entirety for all of our schools, they can be found here.

Looking ahead

The next Panorama survey window for students in grades 3–12 will be November 4–27, 2025. Each school will choose specific dates for participation.

Families may review the questions here:

Families who prefer that their student not participate may email Jennifer Murphy, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, at murphyj@monroe.wednet.edu or let their student’s teacher know. Students who opt out will have an alternate quiet activity.

Thank you for your continued partnership in helping us ensure every student feels safe, known, valued, and supported in Monroe School District.
