As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we have some important updates to share with you. These updates include changes to the Friday early release schedule, updates to the draft student calendar for 2024-25, and the Annual Update process in Family Access.

Please take a moment to review the following information, which will help ensure a smooth start to the new school year for you and your student.

Friday early release schedule
While negotiations with the Monroe Education Association are ongoing, we have reached a tentative agreement to extend Friday early dismissal times, pending ratification by the MEA membership and school board approval. Under this agreement, Friday dismissal will be at 1:05 p.m. for middle and high school students and 2:10 p.m. for elementary students.

This non-student time on Fridays for staff will continue to be focused on the continuous improvement of instructional methods to ensure the academic and social success of all students. Once the agreement is ratified and approved by the school board, we will provide more details about the reasons behind this decision.

Draft student calendar
The 2024-25 student calendar is still in draft form pending negotiations with MEA, but we have finalized a few additional dates:

  • September 9: First day of school for kindergarten and Transition to Kindergarten students 
  • September 25: Monroe High School Curriculum Night (Time TBD)
  • September 26: Park Place and Hidden River MIddle School Curriculum Nights (Time TBD)
  • October 1: Elementary Curriculum Night (Time TBD)

Family Access Annual Enrollment Update
Each year, we ask all families to log in to Family Access to complete the Annual Update. This update is essential for ensuring your student’s information is current, reviewing required school and district notifications, and completing necessary forms. We encourage you to complete this process as soon as possible to ensure you are ready for the upcoming school year.

Students' class schedules and teacher assignments will be available in Family Access starting Monday, August 26th. However, please note that you will only be able to view your student’s schedule after completing the Annual Update. It is important to understand, however, that these schedules may change before the start of school due to enrollment and staffing adjustments.
