College in the High School

High School students may apply for college credits through Everett Community College for designated courses at Monroe High School. Students must be in the 10th grade or above, pay a fee of $220 per college class and demonstrate proficiency on an assessment test to qualify. Some scholarships based on financial need are available. Students register for the program with the high school instructor. Credits will transfer to the community college system within Washington. The admissions offices at four-year institutions make determinations regarding the acceptance of any or all of these credits. Current College in the High School courses at MHS are indicated in course descriptions in the MHS Course Catalog.

Things to know

  • The deadline for 1st semester registration is typically in November. The deadline for 2nd semester is in early April. Check EvCC College in the High School web page for specifics.
     
  • Cost is $220 per 5 credits. A MHS CIH class may be either 5 credits for a semester or 5 credits for a full year. The teacher can explain the term for each class.
     
  • Registration is online through Everett Community College.
     
  • You will receive an email from EvCC regarding the status of your enrollment.
