Dear Chain Lake families,

I am thrilled to be the newly selected Principal of Chain Lake Elementary School for the 2017-18 school year! Working with elementary aged children and supporting teachers to do their best work is a great passion of mine and I’m very happy to have the opportunity to join the Chain Lake community to do this important work. I look forward to partnering with you to provide students with a challenging, engaging, and high-quality school experience.

Over the past three years, I have served as an elementary school associate principal in the Lake Washington School District. Prior to being a principal, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles for 18 years. I have been a second, third, and fourth grade teacher, and a Title 1 Reading Specialist.

On a personal note, I live in Kenmore with my beautiful wife and son. We have two grown daughters; one currently lives in Austin, Texas, while the other lives in Boise, Idaho. Our son will be starting seventh grade this year at Northshore Middle School. We love spending time together enjoying the outdoors, having fun on the water, traveling, and cheering on the Seahawks!

In all of my roles, I’ve worked to ensure children receive the best quality education in a safe and joyful environment. Families are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met. This means that a strong home to school connection is important. I am committed to partnering with you and look forward to meeting you.

I hope you enjoy the remainder of your adventures this summer. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at or come introduce yourself if you see me around the Chain Lake campus. See you soon.

To the Chain Lake students,

Hello, my name is Mr. Lingelbach and I will be your new principal starting this school year. I am super excited to meet you and can’t wait to get to know you! I love being a principal because I love to watch students put forth effort to learn and grow their skills. Isn’t it fun when you’ve worked really hard to learn something and you finally “get it”?

It’s important for me to get to know you so when we meet each other, I hope that you will share with me something special about you. I try very hard to learn every student’s name so I hope you will help me out be introducing yourself to me every time you see me for the first weeks of school. It’s going to be tough to learn all 560+ students’ names, but I like a good challenge! I hope you have a great summer and that you will continue to read and write and solve interesting problems throughout the summer. I can’t wait to meet you!
