Frank Wagner Elementary Modernization

Frank Wagner Elementary was originally built in 1989. In 2018, a 33,729 square foot two-story addition was added to the existing 38,204 square-foot two story classroom wing. The original classroom wing, now 36 years old, is in need of significant updates to address aging systems, deteriorating surfaces and fixtures, and outdated learning spaces.

The proposed modernization would upgrade HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and fixtures to meet current codes and the school’s needs. It would also include new flooring and finishes, roofing, windows, restroom improvements, and ADA accessibility upgrades.

Importantly, this modernization would update the original wing to ensure all classrooms throughout the school are consistent and provide students with an equitable, modern learning environment.

Addition of a gym at Frank Wagner Elementary

The original Frank Wagner Elementary gym, built in 1989, does not offer enough space to accommodate the number of P.E. classes required for all students. As a result, P.E. classes are also held in the neighboring Wagner Center’s gym. Once Wagner Center is modernized and expanded to house Sky Valley Education Center, the Wagner Center gym will no longer be available for daily use by Frank Wagner Elementary. The addition of a 4500 square foot gym at Frank Wagner Elementary would allow all P.E. classes to be held on the Frank Wagner Elementary campus. It would also provide added gym space for community use.
