Flyer Distribution
The Monroe School District Communications Department coordinates the distribution of all youth-related information from outside organizations to students/families. Approval to distribute flyers is granted only to nonprofit organizations and government entities.
Monroe School District cooperates with approved nonprofit community partners and government entities by posting youth-related eflyers online and distributing them via email to families through our service provider, Peachjar. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, approved flyers are distributed electronically via email to families. Paper flyers from community partners are not distributed to students/families.
To request flyer approval, follow the steps below. Once approved, your flyer will be emailed to all families at selected schools and posted online (look for the Peachjar button at the bottom of our district and school websites).
Flyer Approval and Distribution Process
Informational materials to be distributed are reviewed by the Communications Department and meet certain standards to be approved for distribution. For material to be considered for distribution to students/families, it must:
- Be submitted on behalf of a valid nonprofit or government agency;
- Promote the academic, vocational, social/civic/cultural growth of students; and
- Prominently display scholarship availability, if there are any associated fees.
We will not distribute any materials that:
- Are obscene, lewd, or vulgar;
- Are libelous;
- Contain language that is intimidating, demeaning, harassing or threatening on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin or ancestry, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital or veteran status, including, but not limited to, racial, sexual, or ethnic slurs;
- Promote commercial enterprises;
- Support or oppose any political candidate or ballot measure;
- Promote the violation of existing laws, regulation or ordinances, or official school policy, rules or regulations;
- Proselytize or disparage religious beliefs; or
- Are a solicitation for funds, direct sales information by outside vendors, survey, questionnaire or request for information by non-school organizations, or any solicitation for religious or political membership.
Dissemination of the information does not reflect the district’s endorsement or sponsorship of the activity. Peachjar automatically applies the following disclaimer to approved digital flyers: “The Monroe School District has neither reviewed nor approved the program, personnel, activities, or organizations announced in this flyer. Permission to distribute this flyer should not be considered a recommendation or endorsement of the program by the school district."
To upload a flyer and request approval for distribution via Peachjar:
- Visit www.peachjar.com
- Register as an Community Organization
- Upload a copy of the sponsoring organization's federal 501(c) status or state not-for-profit status to your account
- Upload your flyer for approval
Your flyer will be automatically submitted to the Communications Department for review. Approval or denial is based on the criteria listed above.
Peachjar charges a fee for flyer distribution, which is typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers to each school. Peachjar’s service fee, however, will be waived in the Monroe School District when a local community organization is promoting a free event that does not entice participants to join a fee-based program or purchase products or services. Community Free (Free-for-Free) flyer distribution is limited to one flyer per 28 days for organizations promoting a free program, service, or resource where children are the direct beneficiary.
All flyers submitted for free distribution will be reviewed by Peachjar for verification of eligibility and must comply with the following requirements:
- Your charitable program, service, or resource directly benefits children and does not require participants to qualify, has no enticement for future fee-based programs, and does not serve the purpose of fundraising, collecting donations, or allowing for the purchase of products or services.
- Your organization is not nationally recognized and physically resides within the boundaries of the school district you wish to distribute to.
- Your organization is not receiving fees or revenue from vendors participating in the event.
Paper Flyers
To reach families without Internet access, up to 30 flyers may be provided to schools to set out in their main offices only, after approval from the Communications Department and at the discretion of the school principal. The paper flyer must include the following disclaimer: “The Monroe School District has neither reviewed nor approved the program, personnel, activities, or organizations announced in this flyer. Permission to distribute this flyer should not be considered a recommendation or endorsement of the program by the school district."
To receive approval to leave up to 30 flyers in a schools' main office, please email it to communications@monroe.wednet.edu.
Families
If you provided your email address on your student’s contact information form, you will receive flyers via email from community organizations. You do not need to log in to receive or view e-flyers and you can opt-out at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe from Email Notifications" at the bottom of any email.
If you are not receiving emails from Peachjar, there are two possible reasons for this:
- Your email address is not on file with your school. Let your school office know to add your email address to the district contact form.
- The Peachjar emails are going into your spam folder or you can't see the images in the email. To prevent the e-flyers from going into your spam folder, add MonroeSchoolDistrict@peachjar.com to your email contacts. When you receive your first e-flyer, be sure to click “always display images.”
Peachjar is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose.
