Hidden River Unveils New, Modern School Logo

Big changes are in the works at Hidden River Middle School! Not only is construction well underway to add considerably more square footage, a football field, a track and a new baseball/softball field, but the school just unveiled a new, modern school logo.

Big changes are in the works at Hidden River Middle School! Not only is construction well underway to add considerably more square footage, a football field, a track and a new baseball/softball field, but the school just unveiled a new, modern school logo.

The original hand-drawn school logo was a pencil drawing of a hawk soaring over a river. The need for an updated logo came when the manufacturing company producing the new scoreboards for the ball fields asked for the digital logo files to add to the new scoreboards. With the logo being a hand-drawing from many years ago, the school did not have a high resolution digital version of the original logo. It was decided that since there was a need for a new digital version of the logo, now would be a good time for a logo refresh as well.

A committee made up of students, parents, and school staff was formed to define a vision and direction for the new logo. The committee was asked to look at the current logo and discuss what they liked about it and what they wanted to change.

All four of the students on the committee shared that they were unaware that Hidden River even had a logo! They wanted to make sure that whatever new logo was decided upon, that students could identify it and be proud of it.

The committee then worked with graphic designers to come up with preliminary logo designs. Over 30 different designs were looked at by the committee and they narrowed it down to several that best fit their vision. The final two logo designs were then presented to students to vote on their favorite. One of the logos was a clear winner, receiving a vast majority of student votes.

The winning design was then finalized with a graphic designer and the students, staff and community of Hidden River are now the proud owners of a copyrighted high resolution, modern, digital logo. The new logo will appear on the new scoreboard that will be installed on the school's new synthetic turf football field.

A huge thank you to those who participated on the logo redesign committee:
