Goodbye to Lake Maltby at Maltby Elementary! Thanks to the recent bond passed by our community, a newly resurfaced play area with improved drainage will now allow students to enjoy the blacktop this year without having to navigate around large masses of water. School Board Directors Nancy Truitt Pierce and Jim Scott along with Superintendent Fredrika Smith joined students for the ribbon cutting to officially open the new play area at today's Back to School Social.
This project was made possible by our community's passage of a capital projects & major maintenance bond in 2015. As proposed in the bond, each school throughout the district will be the beneficiary of improvements meant to modernize facilities and infrastructure or improve safety and security on campus. All projects were determined by a committee and approved by voters on the ballot.
