The Monroe High School girls' softball teams can now practice and host games on their new ball field, without leaving school grounds. Construction of the $1.39 million field was made possible by harvesting timber off school district-owned land, generous grants from the Snohomish County Tourism Promotion Area Advisory Board & the City of Monroe and local school reserve dollars.
The new fields feature lighting, drainage and an all-weather surface that will allow the teams to play ball no matter the weather conditions. The all-weather surface will make the fields available for year-round use by students and the greater Monroe community.
The next phase of the ball field complex will begin in May, which will include an all-weather surface baseball field and a utility field. This phase will be funded solely by the bond approved by local voters in April 2015.- Bond Updates
