MHS 'Field of Dreams' Completed
Erin Zacharda

Construction of the three new softball/baseball fields at Monroe High School is complete, thanks to the 2015 bond passed by local voters!

Thank you voters! On March 14, 2017 the Monroe High School (MHS) Bearcat Baseball Team cut the ribbon to celebrate the grand opening of their new baseball fields. Construction of the baseball fields was made possible by the April 2015 bond that passed by a supermajority of 62.74%.

The new fields feature lighting, drainage and an all-weather surface that made yesterday's game possible, even in the rain. The all-weather surface will make the fields available for year-round use by students and the greater Monroe community. The fields were designed by DA Hogan & Associates and built by A-1 Landscaping & Construction, Inc.

Prior to the Bearcat's Spring 2017 home opener vs. Bishop Blanchet (Bearcats win! 8-0), 2017 MHS Hall of Fame Inductee Tod Johnson threw the first pitch.
