Grants & Donations

The Monroe School District welcomes contributions from individuals, businesses, and community organizations to enhance and support our instructional programs. Donations and grants can come in many forms, including money, supplies, services, or equipment.

Guidelines for Donations & Grants

To ensure that all gifts align with district priorities and policies, the following guidelines apply, as outlined in Policy 6114:

A Grant/Donation Agreement Form must be collected with every donation, whether it is money, supplies, services, or equipment.

Grant/Donation Agreement Form

Appropriate Gifts Only:
The district cannot accept gifts that:
- Are inappropriate or impose unsuitable conditions.
- Obligate the district to future expenses from the general fund.
- Create significant disparities in resource allocation among schools, teams, or programs.

Ownership & Use:
All donations become the property of the Monroe School District and may be used or disposed of at the district’s discretion.

Donating to Schools & Programs

Unsolicited Donations:
Contributions from booster clubs, parent organizations, or community members to support extracurricular activities must ensure fair distribution and avoid creating inequities between teams or programs.

Solicited Donations:
- Classroom Donations: Teachers must obtain approval from their principal before seeking donations. Technology-related donations also require approval from the district’s Technology Director. This applies to crowdfunding platforms such as GoFundMe.com and DonorsChoose.org.
- School or District-Wide Donations: Staff or administrators looking to secure donations that benefit an entire school or the district must receive approval from the Superintendent or designee.
