Elementary & Sky Valley Education Center students
Students at our elementary schools and Sky Valley Education Center have access to district Chromebooks while they are at school.
Middle & High School students
Chromebooks and chargers are checked out to Monroe School District middle and high school students in grades 6-12 for use at school and home. Students are expected to bring them to school charged each day.
Whether using a district-owned Chromebook at school or at home, all students must abide by our Expectations for Use, as outlined below.
Chromebook Protection Plan (for middle & high school only)
Like textbooks, team uniforms, and other school property issued to your student, there is a responsibility to take appropriate care of Chromebooks. We know that loss and accidents happen; however, district policies, regulations, and practices require that a fee be charged to cover the repair or replacement cost of district property. Since the cost of loss or damage of Chromebooks can be significant, the district provides Chromebook Protection Plans as a way for families to reduce the financial risk in the event a student's Chromebook is accidentally damaged or lost.
The MSD Chromebook Protection plan covers the cost of any accidental damage or loss of a student’s school issued Chromebook. It does not cover intentional misuse, abuse, or neglect. Because we cannot repair the power adapter, students must always cover the cost of damage to or loss of the power adapter.
2025-26 School Year
The Chromebook Protection Plan form was due by OCTOBER 31, 2025 for the 2025-26 school year. However, if you are a new student or have just been issued a new Chromebook, you have 30 days from the date you receive your Chromebook to purchase the Chromebook Protection. The standard Chromebook Protection is $30 per school year. This amount is reduced to $10 for students who qualified for free/reduced meals and submitted a Consent to Share Form. No refunds will be issued.
If you choose not to purchase the MSD Chromebook Protection Plan, you will be responsible for the full cost of repairing or replacing the Chromebook.
Students who withdraw or leave the Monroe School District and do not return the student-issued Chromebook will be subject to a fine. The Chromebook will be remotely disabled and all functionality removed until the Chromebook is returned.
