Our mission is to maintain and improve all district facility buildings and grounds in a manner which positively contributes to the learning experience of each student by providing a safe, clean, sustainable and healthy environment.
Facilities and Operations has a staff of 32 custodians, five maintenance specialists and five grounds employees. Work orders are submitted, routed, assigned, and their progress monitored online through the use of a computerized work order system.
During the course of an average year, our maintenance staff complete approximately 3,200 to 3,500 work order requests from schools and the district office. The Department is also responsible for life safety, indoor air quality, security, design, construction and remodeling, and acts as a liaison with municipalities and other governmental entities within our boundaries.
Thanks to our community's passage of the 2015 Capital Projects Bond, we have many school modernization projects in progress. To learn more about all of the completed projects, those in progress, and the projects yet to start, visit our Capital Projects page or call (360) 804.2677.
Our schools and facilities are part of our community and are available for rental during non school hours. For information about renting spaces in any of our facilities or any of our sports fields, visit our Facility Use page or call (360) 804.2675.
We take the safety of our students, staff and community very seriously and work in partnership with local agencies and environmental testing companies to assure that our facilities are healthy learning environments. To view recent environmental test results, visit our Environmental Testing page.
