Facilities & Operations
Our mission is to maintain and improve all district facility buildings and grounds in a manner which positively contributes to the learning experience of each student by providing a safe, clean, sustainable and healthy environment.
Facilities and Operations staff includes custodians, maintenance specialists, and grounds employees. Work orders are submitted, routed, assigned, and their progress monitored online through the use of a computerized work order system.
During the course of an average year, our maintenance staff complete approximately 3,200 to 3,500 work order requests from schools and the district office. The Department is also responsible for life safety, indoor air quality, security, design, construction and remodeling, as well as acting as a liaison to municipalities and other governmental entities within our boundaries.
Thanks to our community's passage of the 2015 Capital Projects Bond, we have many school modernization projects in progress. To learn more about all of the completed projects, those in progress, and those yet to start, visit our Capital Projects page.
Our schools and facilities are part of our community and available for rental during non-school hours. For information about renting spaces in any of our facilities or sports fields, please visit our Facility Use page or call (360) 804.2675.
