Facility Advisory Committee
Public schools are a cornerstone of our community. Funding for capital improvements—such as building renovations, new construction, and major repairs—comes from voter-approved bonds and capital levies. That’s why it’s essential for community members to have a voice in shaping our capital facilities plans to ensure they reflect local values and priorities.
What Guides the FAC’s Work?
The committee’s recommendations to the school board for facility improvement investments were grounded in a variety of data and input sources, including:
- School facility needs assessments
- Current and future educational program requirements
- Building condition reports
- Input from students, families, staff, and community members
- School enrollment trends and projections
- Local development patterns
- Capital funding options
- And more...
To support this important work, the district partnered with Teater Crocker, an educational consulting firm that specializes in school facility planning.
Committee Membership
The FAC is comprised of 26 members representing a balanced mix of parents, staff, and community members from across the Monroe School District. Members were selected through an open application process in September 2024.
All committee members:
- Live within the Monroe School District boundaries (unless they are staff members providing essential information)
- Have committed to serve for up to one year
- Attend monthly meetings
- Support the FAC’s objectives as outlined by the School Board
We appreciate the dedication of our FAC members and their commitment to helping shape the future of our schools.
