Chromebook Protection Plan

The Chromebook Protection Plan form is due by OCTOBER 30, 2026 for the 2026-27 school year. If you are a new student or have just been issued a new Chromebook, you have 30 days from the date you receive your Chromebook to purchase the Chromebook Protection Plan.

Completed paper copies can be returned to your school office.

Payment
If you choose to purchase the Chromebook Protection Plan for the year, you will receive an invoice via email within the first month of school. You can pay by clicking the link in the email or by sending a check to your child's school. No refunds will be issued.

If you choose not to purchase the MSD Chromebook Protection Plan, you will be responsible for the full cost of repairing or replacing the Chromebook.

CHROMEBOOK PROTECTION PLAN COVERAGE AND BENEFIT: Purchasing the Protection Plan covers the Chromebook loaned to the student against damage, theft, or loss for one (1) school year. This program does NOT cover damage or loss of the power adapter, which we ask students to keep at home. This program does NOT cover intentional misuse, abuse, or neglect. If the student did not exercise proper care and/or take appropriate precautions, as described in Chromebook Expectations, and this behavior resulted in damage to or loss of the equipment, the cost of the repair or replacement will be the responsibility of the student/parent. Upon paying for Chromebook Protection, if the Chromebook is damaged, stolen, or lost, it will be repaired or replaced (as applicable) as shown in the table below.

THEFT: If the Chromebook is stolen, the Monroe School District will require that a police report be submitted and shared with the District. Fraudulent reporting of theft will be turned over to the police for investigation. A student making a false report will also be subject to disciplinary action.

LOSS: If the Chromebook is lost, the district will reduce the replacement cost to $100 for the first loss. Upon payment, the student will be issued a replacement Chromebook. In the event that the lost Chromebook is recovered in working condition, the replacement cost previously paid by student/parent will be refunded. Any subsequent loss will be charged to the parent/ student at full replacement cost (currently $339 plus tax). Any Chromebook lost or stolen will be remotely disabled and all functionality removed until the Chromebook is returned.
