Kindergarten Information Night: February 27, 2024

Kindergarten Information Night: February 27, 2024

Families of children who will be 5 years old by August 31, 2024 are invited to attend our Kindergarten Information Night on Tuesday, February 27 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at each of our five elementary schools.

These meetings will be hosted by our elementary school principals and will include a discussion about curriculum as well as a walk-through of the registration process and a tour of kindergarten classrooms.

All five MSD elementary schools offer all day, every day kindergarten at no cost to families. To find out which elementary school your child should attend, please visit our school boundaries webpage and enter your home address in the search bar. Click on the school symbol that is located within the same boundary lines as your home to find out which school your child should attend. Our five elementary school locations are as follows:

In addition, Frank Wagner Elementary offers a Spanish/English Dual Language Program. Any kindergarten student may enroll; however, bus service is only provided to families living in the Frank Wagner boundary area. An information night for the Dual Language Program will also be held on March 26th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Frank Wagner Elementary. All interested families are encouraged to attend.

Maltby Elementary School offers a Montessori-Based Program that is open for kindergarten students on an all-day, every-day schedule. An informational meeting for all interested families will be held Tuesday, March 5 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

For questions about school boundaries, intra-district or choice transfer requests (if students are interested in applying to attend a school other than their home school), families should visit our transfer request webpage, contact their neighborhood's elementary school, or contact Monroe School District's Learning & Teaching Department at 360.804.2550.

Registration for the 20234-25 school year opens on February 27, 2024. It is important for families to register as soon as possible following Kindergarten Information Night to help us best plan classes and staffing for the 2024-25 school year. If you'd like to register your child during Kindergarten Information Night, we will be happy to help you!

Please bring the following to register:

  • Proof of residency (utility bill, government doc. or housing paperwork showing name/address)
  • Copy of birth certificate
  • Copy of immunizations

State law requires incoming kindergarten students to have received current immunizations by the first day of class and be age five by August 31, 2024 to enroll for the 2023-24 school year. Visit our Kindergarten Registration page for additional requirements.
