Family Co-op

What Is A Parent Led Co-op?

A community of families that are an integral part of their child’s education, working cooperatively to nurture their love of learning and build their character.

What Students Learn

This inclusive co-op will count as 4 SVEC classes, and will cover:

  • Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

....while offering regular group speaking opportunities and logic games. Curriculum will be provided, as well as a schedule to follow for each subject.

How do we teach a K-8 grade range?

We combine lessons as much as possible. Going over common material together, to be read aloud and enjoyed as an entire community, before sending students off to separate activities geared towards age and development. Since this is not a drop-off program, all parents will be involved in leading a certain number of lessons based on curriculum material.

Why Family Co-op?

Want to complete all you core classes on one day while building a community with other families? The Family Co-op will accomplish that, and so much more! We follow a classical education model and utilize a variety of curriculum and novels. The co-op will meet on Mondays from 9:30am to 2:30pm and covers Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies.

Each parent will facilitate a certain number of classes. You will not have to come up with your own material. It will be more like facilitating a conversation, or leading an activity, about what has been covered at home. Curriculum will be provided, as well as a schedule to follow for each subject. This will take the guesswork out of your weekly planning. We truly desire this to be a community that will support each other and grow together.

Parent may choose to enroll in this co-op only, or they may choose to sign up for additional classes in our Parent Partnership Program.
