Shawn Anderson
Shawn Anderson believes it is important to be involved in the community in which you live and is passionate about education. Shawn was first appointed to the board in August of 2018 to fill the vacant Director of District 1 position until the next regularly scheduled election. In November 2019 Shawn ran unopposed and was elected to the position of Director of District 1 for the remainder of the unexpired term, which extends until November 2021.
Shawn grew up in Texas and after enlisting in the army at age 19, spent 20 years in Europe. His family relocated to Monroe in March of 2017. Shawn and his wife, Ingrid, of 27 years, have two boys - the oldest is 21, married, and stationed (army) at Ft Stewart, GA; and their youngest son is in fourth grade at Chain Lake Elementary and is very active in Monroe sports.
In addition to working as a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft and part-time professor at Newman University in Wichita, KS, Shawn also serves as the Vice President of Monroe Youth Football and is the Co-Athletic Director of Monroe Youth Lacrosse. He is also on the Board of Fellows at Norwich University and the Board of Directors for CS2AI Seattle.
