Learning Assistance Program (LAP)

The Learning Assistance Program (LAP) is a state funded program designed to provide additional intervention and support to eligible students who are below standard on state and district assessments. With an emphasis on early grades, schools design programs that give eligible students the additional help they need to get a strong start toward academic success.

Schools that qualify for LAP Program funding are:

  • Chain Lake Elementary
  • Frank Wagner Elementary
  • Fryelands Elementary
  • Maltby Elementary
  • Salem Woods Elementary
  • Park Place Middle School

These schools receive additional staffing to support teachers with reading interventions, and to provide supplemental instruction in reading or math for struggling students. The funding supports also supports staff time for professional development and parent involvement activities.
