We are proud to announce that Frank Wagner Elementary has been recognized by the Washington School Recognition Program for its outstanding progress in closing opportunity gaps during the 2023–2024 school year!

This recognition celebrates the tremendous growth shown by subgroups of Frank Wagner students who had previously scored below grade-level standards on the statewide Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA). In spring 2024, these students demonstrated substantial improvement—either by meeting grade-level standards or by making significant strides toward them compared to the previous year.

Recognition is based on data from the Washington School Improvement Framework, and it is an honor shared by only 16% of schools statewide. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, heart, and relentless commitment of our educators and staff, who work tirelessly to support student success every single day.

“Achieving this honor is no small feat,” said Bill Kallappa, chair of the State Board of Education. “It takes a team of dedicated educators and administrators working together to ensure that their students have the knowledge they need to be successful. And it takes great students coming to school every day ready to learn.”

This statewide acknowledgment also highlights the powerful partnership between educators, students, and families, all working together to build supportive learning environments where every student can thrive.

Frank Wagner Elementary has received a special banner from the State Board of Education to publicly share the growth, perseverance, and commitment demonstrated throughout the school year.
