Senior School Board Student Representative Recognized

During Monday’s meeting, the MSD school board took time to recognize Nathan Burrell, this year’s senior school board student representative as he is graduating from Monroe High School on June 10th. Nathan is the first student representative to complete the newly adopted two year term!

School Board President Jennifer Bumpus shared the following on behalf of the board, “Throughout your tenure, you consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities, professionalism, and a genuine passion for improving the experience for all students in our schools. We appreciate the commitment you made to the board and the contributions you made on behalf of students. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your exceptional service as a student representative.”

Nathan expressed his gratitude for the school board and voiced that because of his time on the board, his perspective has changed dramatically. Now when he goes to school, he sees students that have potential and knows they can do incredible things. He finds himself thinking about how he can help students and how can we all get better, together.

The current junior student representative, Laura Wittenberg, will stay on the board in the 2023-24 school year as the senior student representative.

Thank you for serving on the MSD school board, Nathan! We will wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
