Monroe High School Senior Earns National Merit Commendation

Monroe High School senior Owen Eagan-Heffernan has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. This recognition is based on outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT taken during junior year and places Owen among roughly 34,000 seniors nationwide honored for exceptional academic promise.

The Letter of Commendation is a notable academic honor that students can include on college and scholarship applications. In some cases, commended status may also qualify students for special scholarships offered by corporate and community sponsors.

“Owen’s recognition places him among the top students in the nation,” said Brett Wille, Principal of Monroe High School. “His PSAT/NMSQT performance highlights both his hard work and the strong teaching at MHS. We’re proud of Owen and grateful to the teachers who have supported his success.”

Please join us in congratulating Owen on this achievement.
