College Athletic Eligibility Resources
Navigating the path to collegiate athletics can feel overwhelming, but there are many resources available to help student-athletes and families understand eligibility requirements, recruiting timelines, and academic expectations.
Understanding College Athletics Options
NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)
- The largest college sports organization in the country.
- Includes Division I, II, and III schools.
- Division I: Highest competition level; larger schools; athletic scholarships available.
- Division II: Competitive programs with some athletic scholarships.
- Division III: No athletic scholarships, but strong academic focus and competitive athletics.
NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics)
- A smaller national organization with many private and faith-based colleges.
- Competitive athletics with the ability to offer athletic scholarships.
- Often provides a more personal, community-focused campus environment.
NWAC (Northwest Athletic Conference)
- The athletic conference for community colleges in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia.
- Two-year programs that can serve as a great pathway to NCAA or NAIA schools.
Below you will find quick access to NCAA, NAIA, and NWAC eligibility information, along with helpful tools and guides to support you through the process.
