Revised 2025–26 School Calendar – Last Day June 17

Revised 2025–26 School Calendar – Last Day June 17

As of today, the last day of school is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, unless unforeseen circumstances require additional school closures.

Washington State law requires school districts to provide 180 school days each year and meet a minimum number of instructional hours. Due to the school closure on December 12 for flooding, the school year has been extended to June 17 to make up for the missed day.

While some neighboring districts were able to apply for waivers to forgo making up missed days due to flooding, Monroe School District does not have enough excess instructional hours built into our calendar. Although waivers excuse required days, there are no waivers for required hours. For that reason, we are required to make up the missed day.

June 17 – Last Day of School (Early Dismissal):

  • Grades 6-12: Dismissed at 11:00 a.m.
  • Grades K-5: Dismissed at 12:00 p.m.

The last day of preschool will be June 4.

Please note: Sky Valley Education Center follows a different calendar.
