Communications

We can help you with:

  • Emergency notifications and crisis communication

We know that during emergencies, the primary responsibility of school staff is to ensure the safety of students. To support school staff in crisis situations, we handle all communication to families. Notifications to families are sent out through email, robo call, text, pop ups on the website and social media posts.

  • Media outreach

The Monroe communications team is here to assist you with media contacts and promoting your positive news stories. Our Media Best Practices page will help you when considering interacting with media.

  • Social media

We're on Facebook and Twitter. Follow us at @MonroeWAschools and join in with #WeAreMSD.

Want to get your school, department or program on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram? Please fill out the Social Media Account Application and return it to the Communications Department for approval.

Social Media Account Application

  • Insider News

Have relevant news to share with staff? Contact us to get news stories added to the Insider News on the Staff Hub.

  • Storytelling & Photography

Our community loves hearing about the great things going on in schools! If you have a lesson, event, initiative, or any positive news, we'd love to help write a story to share with our community. These stories may go on the website, social media, in community publications or be pitched to the media. The more our community knows about the wonderful things happening in our schools, the more likely they are to show support of our schools!

  • Graphic design

Need a flyer, logo, postcard or brochure? We can help. Fill out our project request form to get started.

  • Logos and district branding

Check our brand guidelines. You’ll also find logo styles, brand colors, and everything that says "I'm with Monroe."

  • Communication plans

Effective communication between school staff, families, and community members is critical to building partnerships and support for our students and schools. We are here to support the efforts of all staff in building effective communication systems that are consistent, informative, transparent and encourage engagement. Not sure where to start? We can help you create a communications plan!
