Dear Monroe School District Community,
Video message from Superintendent Woodward
This year, we have been working on the development of a five-year strategic plan for the Monroe School District. Our goal is to ensure our strategic plan is representative of the diverse voices in our community and is reflective of our collective vision for the future of the Monroe School District. As such, the plan is based on the input collected from students, staff, families, and community members earlier this year.
Before the plan is finalized and officially adopted by the school board, we are sharing the draft plan with you and asking for your feedback to ensure it is truly reflective of our collective vision. You can view the PDF version of our draft strategic plan here or you can view the mobile-responsive, translatable version of the plan on our website here.
If you’d like to share your feedback on our strategic plan after reviewing it, we invite you to attend an in-person focus group with Superintendent Woodward or share your feedback via our online ThoughtExchange survey.
We will be holding several focus group sessions with a maximum of 20 people at each session. Sign-up is required to attend. The focus groups will be held on the following dates/times at the District Administration Office (14692 179th Avenue SE, Monroe):
Family/Community Member Focus Groups
- Tuesday, March 19 at 9:00 a.m.
- Wednesday, March 20 at 5:15 p.m.
Staff Focus Groups
- Tuesday, March 19 at 4:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, March 20 at 4:00 p.m.
If you are unable to attend a focus group or prefer to share your feedback online, we invite you to participate in our ThoughtExchange survey. ThoughtExchange is an easy-to-use, interactive online platform that allows you to share your thoughts anonymously. You can share as many thoughts as you’d like and rate the thoughts others have shared (5 stars = strongly agree, 1 star = strongly disagree). You can come back as often as you wish until March 22 to share and rate thoughts.
We will be collecting your feedback through Friday, March 22, 2024. All feedback will be reviewed and incorporated into the plan as necessary before going to the school board for final approval on April 15, 2024.
Thank you for taking the time to review our draft strategic plan. We look forward to hearing from you and working together to build a brighter future for all our students.
Sincerely,
Shawn Woodward
Superintendent
