What is Western Aerospace Scholars?
Western Aerospace Scholars (WAS) is an online distance learning course and summer experience specifically designed for high school sophomores and juniors interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields. The online curriculum is a University of Washington college course focused on NASA's space exploration program as well as topics in earth and space science.
For High School parents and their students, grades 9-10, who are planning to attend college after high school. We are hosting College Planning Workshops to talk about: Running Start Community College vs 4 Yr University College Requirements Scholarships College Applications AND MORE! Tuesday, October 23 at 1:00pm in Room 9 Friday, October 26 at 9:00am in Room 9
Sky Valley will conduct High School Information Seminars for parents and students who are entering high school for the first time, but anyone in grades 9-10 are welcome to attend! Tuesday, Oct 16 at 1:00pm in Room 9 and Friday, Oct 19 at 9am in Room 9. We will cover: High School Planning Graduation Requirements, Assessments, College Bound Scholarships, Off-Site credit presentations, Running Start & Sno-Isle overview, AND MORE!
Monroe School District and Monroe Education Association Bargaining Update 8/31/18
The Monroe School District Board of Directors has appointed Shawn Anderson as the new Director of District 1. The oath of office will be given to Shawn at the next regularly scheduled Board meeting on August 27th at 6:00 p.m.
Some of our schools receiving modernization work will no longer have a need for some of their portables on campus. These portables are being temporarily stored throughout the district while prep work is happening at their future locations.
The Monroe School District Board of Directors will be having a discussion about the potential rezoning of Marshall Field and Memorial Stadium. Community members are invited to attend to ask questions and share opinions.
This year's seventeen retirees have worked for Monroe School District for a combined 378 years! We applaud their dedication and commitment and are so very grateful for their many years of service. Congratulations on your retirement!
Thanks to the federally funded school lunch program, all youth through age 18 are welcome to eat a free lunch from 12:00-12:45 Monday through Friday all summer long (no service on July 4). Lunch is served in the Wagner Center gym located at 639 West Main Street in downtown Monroe.
