The Running Start Program (R.S.) is a partnership between Community Colleges and Public School Districts in Washington State. Students are eligible for the program in their Junior and Senior years. WA state pays the tuition for any college level class (above 100 level) that a student takes. Students also earn high school credit for the courses they take at the community college. While any community college in the state can be accessed through R.S., most students attend one of the following programs due to geographical considerations:

In order to be eligible for Running Start, students need to either place into college level English by taking the ACCUPLACER assessment test or by submitting SBAC scores with a level 3 or 4. Please contact Wendy in the office if you need copies of your 10th grade SBAC score.

Please Note: We are supplying the Quarterly Release Form in a digital format as a convenience to you. It is still the expectation that you bring the form into SVEC to get it signed.
