There are a couple of different ways that you can support your kiddo in getting ready for state testing. We know this can create some big feelings in your child and in an effort to calm them, we’re sharing ways to make it a successful testing week both emotionally and academically!
Paper Practicing Materials:
- Please visit the SBAC PRACTICE TEST TABLE in the Library!
- Make a copy of the practice material to take with you and work on with your student.
- Once you’ve completed the practice test, bring it to anyone in the SVEC office where you will receive 10 extra after-party drawing tickets to use for one or more of the prizes that will be at the SBAC after-party!!!
- **Tests will take place on Chromebooks.**
Online Practicing Materials:
- Online options are great to help students get familiar with the testing environment.
- Take a practice test or training test using Chrome/Edge/Firefox by clicking the following link:
- Click on Continue as Guest
- Blue Button on the right hand side.
- Select Grade level.
- Select the test you’d like to practice.
- Smarter Balanced (ELA & Math) Practice Tests:
- These are true practice tests to help students get familiar with the testing environment and how questions will be asked.
- There are 2 sections per subject area.
- CAT Section - Computer Adaptive Test
- PT Section - Performance Task
- WCAS (Science) Training Tests
- 5th & 8th graders will test in Science along with Math and English.
- 11th graders will test in Science ONLY
- Remember that the tests are generic and geared to help students get familiar with the testing environment.
These practice tests are not graded.
